The Wiz-Bots worked hard to create their "Snack Attack" Lego model and display board which demonstrated the theme of food safety.
They built a working apple orchard, complete with honey bee hives & bee keeper. They added a fruit-picking & delivery system and an operational windmill to pump the water for growing & washing the fruit.
The expo kicked off with greetings from the JrFll hosts & volunteers.
The team spent a few hours chatting with kids & adults who were curious about their display.
They handed out dried apples to guests.
They enjoyed all the attention at their board and had a wonderful afternoon conversing with other kids.
During the formal evaluation, they took turns answering the questions.
They explained the process of apple growing, picking, washing and transporting.
The motorized windmill garnered the most attention today.
Finally, the awards...
Our team was called up first to receive their certificate and medals.
Congrats & Elbow-bumps!
I'm so proud of the Wiz-Bots!
They worked together every other Wednesday night for 2 months to build the model and create the board -- and had a great time making new friends along the way!
