Cell-U-Licious Saturday Science!

ANIMAL CELL COOKIE!

We began our edible cell project with a fascinating lesson from Andrew....
They examined onion cells under our microscope....
And their own blood cells...

Big brother & sis enjoyed our mini lab as much as the girls.
Next, they headed to the kitchen to mix up the cookie dough....
Frosting...
Blue Nucleus....
The girls loved decorating the animal cell with candy....
They labeled the Nucleus, Nucleolus, Cytoplasm, Mitochondria, ER, Vacuoles, Ribosomes, Golgi Bodies, and Cell Membrane...

Time to serve....
And eat!
Happy Kids, Happy Parents
Stay tuned for our next project --
an Edible Jell-O Plant Cell.

What a fun activity! Great idea about looking at their own blood under the microscope. I look forward to doing something similar soon. I think I'll have them make a plant cell since we're studying botany.
